Off-ice strength and conditioning built for competitive figure skaters — one system, engineered to build the foundation under every jump, spin, and landing before it ever happens on ice.
Off Ice Academy trains skaters on a single framework from their first off-ice session through advanced competitive training. What changes as a skater develops isn't the categories of training — it's the load, complexity, and specificity applied within them.
Progression is based on tested physical readiness, not age or which freestyle level a skater has passed on ice. Physical readiness and on-ice skill don't always move at the same pace, and our system is built to respect that.
Builds body foundation, alignment, strength, stability, and balance — progressing from bodyweight movement quality to loaded, periodized strength work.
Activates the specific muscles needed for the session and prepares the nervous system for skating-specific movement before load is applied.
Develops knee and ankle stability, jump height, landing control, and whole-body power output through progressive plyometric work.
Individualized, specialist work targeting each skater's specific weak muscle groups and movement gaps.
Movement quality, coordination, and safe landing habits come first. No emphasis on power output at this stage — the goal is teaching the body how to move well and absorb force safely.
Power development and rotation-specific training begin. Load is managed carefully through this stage, where growth spurts commonly occur and landing mechanics matter more than raw output.
Maximum performance power and injury resilience under real competitive load — periodized strength, reactive plyometrics, and program-specific conditioning matched to routine length.
